Service Manager

About the position

As a Master Lawn Service Manager, you will be providing direction and leadership to Technician Managers and Technicians. You will train and develop future leaders for the Master Lawn team.  In addition, you must be able to put customers first and problem solve while delivering a positive attitude to our work environment

This is a full-time position reporting to the Branch Manager. 

What you’ll be doing

  • Assign tasks to tech managers and techs, ensuring proper completion of assignments efficiently and safely while adhering to all company policies. 
  • Conduct routine check-ins of all team members
  • Assist branch manager in recruiting, hiring, and training of all technicians 
  • Manage daily and monthly production goal for team members
  • Partner with branch manager to address team member relation issues including performance, attendance, etc.
  • Properly handle, distribute, apply, and store all chemicals and fertilizers in accordance with all laws (Local, Federal, and state) 
  • Assist branch manager in maintaining proper inventory control of all chemicals 
  • Ensure techs and equipment are properly calibrated
  • Maintain fleet, which includes: routine inspections, accident procedures and truck regulation compliance
  • Monitor and prevent equipment damage 
  • Identify new sales opportunities and enhancement opportunities 
  • Provide excellent communication and customer service skills to build trust and create positive customer experiences
  • Listen and respond to customer complaints, working with team members to resolve issues/concerns
  •  Ensure follow-up to ensure best customer service 
  • Assist branch manager in routing, billing, timekeeping, and application records
  • Become a subject matter expert in weed/pest identification, pesticides, and fertility requirements of turf grass and landscape ornamentals.  
  • Keep certification current and seek out continuing education opportunities

What you need to join our team

  • Category 3 certification or equivalent 
  • 3 years Lawn Care Experience 
  • 3 years Managerial experience in related industry 
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and inspire others

  • Demonstrate flexibility and teamwork with all departments
  • Competent to work independently with efficiency and quality
  • Be familiar with label requirements of all chemicals being applied
